Monday, April 28, 2008 Costume, photo exhibit showcase Panaad
IN CELEBRATION of the 15th Panaad Festival, SM City Bacolod has officially opened its Panaad Festival costume and photo exhibit at the Northwing Event Centre of SM City Bacolod, Saturday.
This year's exhibit's ribbon cutting rites was led by Board Member Edgardo Acuña of the 2nd District of Negros Occidental, Elsa Leonardia, first lady of Bacolod City, and Nestor Jalandoni Jr., Pag-Ugyon Negros Foundation president.
The costume and photo exhibit, which will run until May 3, is a display of the rich history, culture and arts of the Negrenses.
Mannequins dressed in colorful apparels depict the festival garments of the different cities and towns in the province, while the colorful visual images of the beautiful places and festival revelry show off the diverse heritage of the people.
The live performances of the Magayon Festival of Moises Padilla and Pintaflores Festival of San Carlos City at the mall's Event Center inspired the audience to witness the weeklong celebration of the Panaad Festival 2008 at the Panaad Stadium in Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Just like in previous Panaad festivals, more festival performers boost the festivity in the mall with their jubilant and joyful dances participated in by MassKara festival of Bacolod City and Bulang Bulang of San Enrique on April 26, 27, 30, May 2 and 3 at 4 p.m. daily.
