In other games, coach Sherwin Nery's Barangay 18 charges edged Barangay 23, 70-64, to likewise barge into the win column of this grassroots sports outreach event organized by the congressional district office of Bacolod Representative Monico O. Puentevella with the tournament committee being chaired by Monico "Nicky" Puentevella Jr.

Leading the Barangay 18 scorers were Mark Cordova with 16, Mark Depa with 14, Lojen Hechanova with 13 and Glenn Franco with 11 points.

Still in another game Thursday, Barangay 20 drubbed Barangay 36, 54-41, as Peter Yee topscored with a game-high 19 points and got scoring support from Denver Casaig with 11 and Zender Agsam with 6.

Kennedy Eusebio posted a team-high 15 points in Barangay 36's losing effort while JR Dinlasan added 10.

Following Tuesday's four-game schedule at the Barangay Granada gym, hostilities resume tomorrow, Thursday back at the Barangay 35 gym with Barangay 10 taking on Barangay 33 at 1 p.m.; Punta Taytay versus Barangay 30 at 2:30 p.m.; Villamonte against Barangay 7 at 4:30 p.m.; Taculing versus Cabug at 6 p.m.; and Mansilingan taking on Barangay 14 in the main event set at 6 p.m.

Organizers also announced that scheduled games that were not played last weekend due to bad weather have been rescheduled for this week and team representatives are urged to coordinate with the tournament committee at Congressman Puentevella's congressional field office. (Henry C. Villalva)
