Tuesday, May 27, 2008 Capitol receives 178 wheelchairs
THE Wheelchair Foundation in partnership with St. Scholastica's Academy in Bacolod City donated some 178 wheelchairs to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental Monday.
The turnover was held at the Provincial Capitol with Governor Isidro Zayco personally receiving the units.
The wheelchairs are intended for the use of indigents as well as in the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City and district hospitals supervised by the provincial government namely: Cadiz District Hospital, Calatrava District Hospital, Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial Hospital in La Carlota City, Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Memorial Hospital in Hinobaan, Ignacio L. Arroyo Memorial District Hospital Isabela, Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan City, Valladolid District Hospital, and Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City.
There were also four models of wheelchairs in different sizes for children and adults.
Present during the turnover were Vice Governor Emilio Yulo III, 1st District Board Member Nehemias Dela Cruz, Economic Enterprise Development Department head lawyer Japhet Masculino, hospital operations chief Dr. Rhoel Mogul, Yvonne Gustilo of EEDD, and Jarie Yulo and Chole Chua of St. Scholastica's Bacolod Alumni Foundation.
