Friday, May 30, 2008 DFA to release more than 1T passports
NEGRENSES who applied for passports during the recently held Pana-ad sa Negros Festival are reminded to claim their passports on May 31, from 8:30 am to 12 nn.
The releasing of passports will be done at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center (NomPac) at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
Claimants are required to personally present their official receipts to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) personnel.
A special power of attorney and identification cards shall be presented by the immediate family members who are authorized to claim the passports.
This will still be subject to the evaluation and approval of the DFA releasing personnel.
A total of 1,244 passports are scheduled to be released this Saturday.
As per DFA estimate, the mobile processing and releasing of passports have saved the Negrenses of about P2.7-million worth of transportation, food and lodging expenses in going to Iloilo City to file and claim their passports.
The mobile service is a joint undertaking of DFA and the provincial government of Negros Occidental under the Public Affairs Division, Office of the Governor.
