Students guilty of scandal may face jail term

THE two college students who were caught copulating inside a car parked beside a school and fronting a church in Bacolod City last week might be imprisoned for 10 days to one month if found guilty of grave scandal.

Senior Inspector Luisito Acebuche, commander of Police Station 2, said the two submitted Thursday their counter-affidavits to the City Prosecutor's Office at the Hall of Justice, admitting their scandalous acts.

The students, age 19 (male) and 18 (female), both residents of Fortune Towne Subdivision in barangay Estefania, Bacolod were caught half naked and copulating inside a KIA Sportage vehicle at the vacant lot beside Colegio San Agustin- Bacolod, fronting the Redemptorist Church along 17th Street, purok Magnolia in barangay 7 last May 23.

Acebuche led the arrest at about 4 am that same day.

Acebuche said the police immediately filed a charge for grave scandal or for violation of Article 200 of the Revised Penal Code.

Parents of the two, however, posted bails in the afternoon of May 23 for their children's temporary release.

"But since they already admitted the crime, I believe they will be penalized with 10 days to one month imprisonment later," Acebuche said. (EAD)
