STANDOUT Krestia Lacson has been named by the Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (PASA) as one of the 20 national swimmers who will compete in the 32nd Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand on June 20-22.
The RP contingent, coached by Pinky Brosas and managed by Christian Iņigo, will compete in three age group categories in the girls division and two in the boys division.
The swimmers were chosen after they competed in the qualifying event last March 30.
Leading the girls' 15-17 team where Lacson belongs is Angelica Inton, who pocketed two gold medals during the Philippine Olympic Festival last year.
Joining her and Lacson are Denjylie Cordero, Jacklyn Junio, Edlyn Son and Louise Sarmiento.
The 23-14 girls' team is bannered by Palarong Pambansa veterans Jasmine Alkhaldi, Kimberly Uy, Anna Celina Gonzales and Christine Grace Tan while the 11-12 girls group will have Delia Cordero and Kezia Sarmiento.
Lacson was one of several Negrense outstanding swimmers recognized last December by the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (SCOOP) during its annual SCOOP Awards for Outstanding Negros Athletes sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
