This as Mayor Jose 'Oti' Montelibano has yet to pick his choice from among the recommendees submitted to him by Police Provincial Director Rosendo Franco to replace Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba.

Montelibano told Sun.Star Bacolod he has yet to choose from among the recommendees because only two have submitted their resumes.

These were Supeintendent Jerry Bartolome, now acting as caretaker of the Silay police office, and Superintendent Joemil Trio.

Four others, including Superintendents Celestino Guarra, Rolen Balquin, Milko Lirazan and Flomar Natuel, have not submitted their respective credentials to Montelibano's office.

"I will wait for the four others to submit to me their papers. After which, I will scrutinize each before I will choose who will be my chief of police," the mayor said.

The vacancy was caused by the sudden relief of Alba as Silay chief of police following the controversial attempted hold-up attempt on the mayor.

But Montelibano explained that the main reason he wanted Alba out of Silay was because the latter's performance was below par.

Alba, however, denied Montelibano's claim, saying he did his best for the city. (EAD)
