CLUB level volleyball competition takes center stage anew when the 9th edition of the annual Lopue's-USLS-NOVA Inter-Club Volleyball championships, sponsored by businessman and volleyball patron Billy Lopue, gets underway at the USLS covered court from August 2 to September 7.

The tournament will be staged in two divisions for men and women - Class A (Open Division) and Class B (Employees and non-varsity players or former varsity players).

Also invited to see action in Class A are teams from Foundation University of Dumaguete City as well as Iloilo Doctors' College of Iloilo City, who will be in Bacolod City on August 29 to 31.

A special feature of the tournament is the arrival of the women's squads of the Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Navy, who will compete in the Lopue's Cup Invitational on September 5-7, also at the USLS covered court, said NOVA president and former Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) head Roger Banzuela.

Teams that have already confirmed their participation are Lopue's Volleyball Club, USLS Sabado Club, Silay City Volleyball Club, USLS College Teams, CSA-B College Men, USLS Alumni, IDC, and FU.

The technical meeting for coaches is scheduled on July 28, 4 p.m., at the USLS Varsity Sports Office lecture room.

The competition is part of the 30th year anniversary celebration of NOVA. (HCV)
