Wednesday, August 06, 2008 83rd Foundation Day of St. Rose of Lima
ST. Rose of Lima School celebrated its 83rd Foundation Day last July 24 in memory of Mother Rosario Arroyo, Foundress of the Dominican Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary.
The event started with a mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Raymond Asoy, whose homily centered on the value of humility and service as exemplified by the life of the Foundress.
The induction of the new set of PTA officers for 2008-2009 also followed. The officers are Albert Yulo, president; Edith Caballero, vice president; Arnold Ilejay, secretary; Maresa Engo, asst. secretary; Sr. Mary Ann, treasurer; Sr. Ma. Kristen Batuigas, asst. treasurer; Rey Casuyon, auditor; Maritoni Villojan, PIO and Esther Locsin and Teresa Baddoreck as business managers.
To make the celebration more meaningful, a Mother Rosario lookalike contest was also held. Adjudged winners were: (high school department) Nadia Baddoreck - 4th year, 1st place; Arriane Lim - 3rd year, 2nd place; (elementary department) Michelle Forkner, 1st place and Wendell Condrada, 2nd place.
The Nutrition Month was also celebrated as part of the occasion. This year's theme is "Sa Wastong Nutrition ni Mommy, Siguradong Healthy si Baby." The food prepared by the teachers and parents was feasted with gusto by the pupils.
