The award was given during the culminating activity of the Blood Donor's Month Friday at the Capitol Social Hall with the theme: "Once is not enough, donate blood regularly."
The activity, spearheaded by the Provincial Health Office headed by Dr. Luisa Efren, started with an opening program followed by the awarding ceremony and bloodletting activity.
Himamaylan City Health officer Medardo Estanda, together with sanitary inspectors Charito Odio, Glenda Bancal, Leo Camaira and Stephen Cerafica, received the award.
They were also given certificates of appreciation for their participation in the achievement of Republic Act 7719 or the National Blood Services Act of 1994.
Present during the activity was Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan, who represented Governor Isidro Zayco; Dr. Eriberto Layda, pathologist and chairman of the blood bank committee; and Dr. Epifania Simbul, OIC-chief of hospital of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, among others.
