Convergys expanding branches
By George M. De La Cruz
Contributor

DUE to its economic success and affinity with the government as one major taxpayer, the management of Convergys Corporation is opening more branches in the country.

Kate Kossmann, corporate communications officer, yesterday said that five more additional branches in Manila and Cebu will become operational in 2009.

“This as a result of our strong relationship and partnership with the government,” Kossmann said.
From nine existing braches, this will rise to 14 and is expected to increase employability from 700 to 1,000 people. Bacolod is the company’s ninth branch employing majority of Negrense professionals.

Already on its fifth year in the Philippines, Convergys is a global leader in relationship management. It encompasses more than 3,000 square meters accommodating almost a thousand of its professionally-trained employees.

It is committed to developing people as its core corporate values and believes in “building from within” those individuals who have exemplary and extraordinary talents.

Its vision is to attract the best and the brightest in the industry and is committed to ensure and maintain a highly-engaged workforce.

It also support programs on education, social and human services and learning programs such as the ‘Sa Aklat Sisikat’, the Philippine business for social progress, and the Gawad Kalinga as its social service undertaking of support.

It has also engaged in mentoring program and public school teachers on real communication that perhaps gained its title as America’s “Most Admired Companies” by the Fortune Magazine.
