Panasonic Cup 10-Under tourney Oct. 26

ADVISER Bing Soyao of the Basketball Unified Sports Group announced that six teams will participate in the Panasonic Cup 10-Under basketball tournament set to open October 6 at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Coaches and team representatives of St. John’s Institute, Bacolod Tay Tung High School, Trinity Christian School, University of St. La Salle, Stallions of Pueblo Rosario and CNBC (Coach Nene Basketball Club) attended the meeting last September 25 at Apollo Restaurant-Shopping.

St. Benilde School has yet to confirm and Soyao expects three more teams from NOPSSCEA member schools to complete the 10-team skills improvement competition. Entry fee is pegged at P3,000 plus a refundable P1,000 default bond.

The best team muse, aged 10 and under, who will be chosen on opening day, will receive a sash and P1,500 worth of goods.

The next coaches’ meeting is set at 6:30PM on October 9 at Apollo Restaurant-Shopping. Soyao hopes that by that time, the cast will be completed. Other interested parties may contact Soyao for more details.

Meanwhile, the BUS Group, which is composed of 50 strong members who are 35 years old and above, will have its general assembly on October 7 at Wok Place Restaurant, Bacolod Shopping Center.

Agenda includes drafting for a four-team inter-color with one guest team probably the Pueblo Rosario Athletic Club. Games will be held every Friday at Lopue’s South Square.

Those who wish to join the club can visit LSS gym every 6:30PM Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Membership fee is P1,000 and P200 monthly dues. Two sets of BUSG practice uniform is entitled the new members upon entry.(HGD)
