Grupo Mari Teves to perform in Silay's Domingo's Bar

FOR those who want to spend their Saturday night out, this is one of the weekend musical features you may not want to miss.

Bacolod City's pride Grupo Mari Teves, simply known by the band's acronym GMT, will be performing at Domingo's Bar along Rizal Street in Silay at 8 p.m. Saturday.

GMT is composed of JR Andales on drums; Carlo Tiangson on guitar; Cloyd Lobaton on trombone; Rosvias Monteclaro Jr. and Cyril Gay on trumpets; Lloyd Ferrer on bass guitar; Zel Carumba on lead vocals and timbales; and Ramoncito Tano on lead vocals and Congo drums. Percussionist Jose Mari Teves founded the band in 1999, thus the band's name.

The eight-man band has received various awards and won several bands' competitions in the province.

GMT is expected to bring good music the likes of R&B, Pop, rock and jazz. GMT is one of the favorite performers during parties and musical occasions in Negros.

They were also able to perform in other places such as in Iloilo and Cebu, particularly in Randy Santiago's 'Ratsky' in Cebu.

"We at Domingo's Bar are very much honored to have here one of the very best musical acts in the region to perform for a fund-raising event," said bar owner Malot Caballero in a phone interview with Sun.Star Bacolod. "GMT's versatility in music is perhaps the main factor that propels the group into a lot of success performances."

The show will be composed of different music styles that will surely fit every costumer's music taste. Ticket for tonight's GMT performance is sold at P150 each. For further details, call Malot Caballero at # 495-2139. (Jerson O. Coronica)
