Friday, October 10, 2008 'Give a Life' project benefits 600 Himamaylan kids
SIX hundred children in the City of Himamaylan were able to avail themselves of the free medical services provided by the St. Scholastica's Alumnae Foundation Inc. in cooperation with the City of Himamaylan.
This is the 4th medical mission conducted by the SSBAFI this year under its 'Give a Life' project, said SSBAFI vice president and executive director Jean Trebol.
The free medical services include free immunizations (MMR, HIB and HEPA), deworming, free medicines and snacks. It was held at the Cong. Agustin M. Gatuslao Memorial Center Thursday.
Mayor Carminia 'Mencit' Bascon said, "We're very grateful to have SSBAFI in our beloved city. What you are doing is truly of great help to the people of Himamaylan. We hope that you will always come here to give us free medical services. We pray that you will receive more blessings so that you could continue the good deeds of helping the people of Negros Occidental."
Mrs. Alona Lirasan, mother of 4-year-old Amaita Jean, thanked the SSBAFI and Mayor Bascon for the opportunity to avail of the free medical services. "My daughter was immunized with HEPA B vaccine."
Bascon said the medical mission has augmented logistic support to the expanded immunization program of the local government of Himamaylan.
