Population workers honored
THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental honored 32 population workers for their 30 years and more of loyal service to the Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP) in Thursday's ceremonies at the Capitol Social Hall.
The affair was in coordination with the Commission on Population.

The awarding ceremony for the 32 workers, 17 of whom came from the Provincial Government while 15 others from various local government units, was led by Regional Director for PopCom Western Visayas Director Vicente Molejona together with Vice Gov. Emilio Yulo III, Board Members Patrick Lacson and Miller Serondo as well as Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan.
Awarded were Jimmy Loplop, Gilnena Lozada, Jose Tamon Sr., Antonia Tejario, Victoria Villalva and Roger Zayco from Bacolod City; Neva Bautista and Ramon Javile from Bago City; Lino Quevenco, Florenda Azuro, Apolinario Bermejo, Arturo Bitas and Emma Velmonte of Silay City; Alberto Diamante and Judith Diamante of La Carlota City; and Ligaya Belano, Perla Cabagay, Inocencio Dueñas, Alexander Fanuga, Wilfredo Garcia, Candelaria Geroldo, Rosalina Lipetin, Hyne Peloton, Rhodora Puentespina, Jose Puertas, Carmendy Salar, Flor Sarol, Rowena Semena, Ramonita Tonog, Roselle Valencia, Elsa Zaragoza and Dina Dumadia of Negros Occidental.
Molejona thanked the workers for their unfailing loyalty and service to the public and highlighted the importance of the local government in instilling awareness and control especially to the married couples in the province with regard to family planning and birth control.
He also presented an overview of the responsible parenting-natural family planning program and turned over checks amounting to P1,278,503 to the province of Negros Occidental and 10 cities including Bacolod, Bago, Cadiz, Escalante, La Carlota, Kabankalan, Sagay, San Carlos, Silay and Sipalay.
