Schools participate in SM UN Day celebration

A PARADE of the different costumes of nations highlighted the UN Day celebration at the Northwing Event Centre at SM City Bacolod over the weekend.

Five schools participated in the commemoration of the event, namely Evangelical Christian Montessori School, St. Sebastian International School, Bacolod Rosario School, Twin Stars Learning Center-Bacolod, and Talisay.

Each student showcased their colorful authentic attires on stage while selected groups showed off their talents in singing and dancing that promoted global peace and unity.

Special awards were given to the following: Best Asian Costume-Jaime Louise Pacilan (China) of St. Sebastian International School; Best Mid Eastern Costume-Patricia Cadagat (Egypt) of St. Sebastian International School; Best European Costume-Raign Charisse Pedrosa (Poland) of Evangelical Christian Montessori School; and Best in South American Costume-Maria Meraju Balensario (Brazil) of Bacolod Rosario School.

Kai Alexander Riddut, who represented Spain, and Christine Gecosara, who wore the Trinidad & Tobago tribal garb, were declared Mr. & Ms. UN, respectively.

Moreover, the Evangelical Christian Montessori School was awarded Best School in Costume, St. Sebastian International School was given the Best School in Performance, and the Bacolod Rosario School received the Most Number of Nations represented award. (Press release)
