SEVERAL projects will be implemented before the year ends or by the first months of 2009 in four villages of the Pontevedra town, said Mayor Jose Maria Alonso.
A project aiming to develop the municipality's water supply in each barangay will be the priority of the Alonso administration for a progressive and more economic-competent Pontevedra.
"We are lucky because we are one of the most peaceful locations in the province and also that help from the Provincial Government is coming straight to the people of Pontevedra," Alonso said.
Several barangays like Antipolo, Cambarus, Canroma and Recreo are expected to benefit from the funds allocated to the four barangays totaling to almost P840,000.
As per the public information office of Pontevedra, a total of 21 projects are set to be implemented in each and every barangay of the municipality by next year.
Alonso also allocated funds for the town's health and welfare concerns.
Alonzo said: "The health of every citizen in my town is my concern. The more healthy they are, the more progressive the town of Pontevedra is".
He has also been particular on the education concern of the residents, donating several school equipments like computers and textbooks to several elementary and high schools in the town. "Education should be prioritized because it is the only key in opening the great door of success and opportunities in the future."
