Thursday, December 04, 2008 Series of Christmas events at SM Bacolod
THE celebration of the Yuletide season at SM City Bacolod kicked off with the Santa Claus grand parade and the simultaneous symbolical lighting of Christmas trees at the mall's Bridgeways and North and South wings last Sunday.
The Musikat's and Seventh Day Adventist Church children's choir Christmas carols also filled the air with the spirit of the season.
The event was also highlighted by the opening of Bamboo Tonogbanua's "Christmas Village on a Christmas Tree" at the Northwing Lobby. The village depicts a small town at the edge of a stony mountain in an early wintry evening. These collections include miniature houses in rustic styles and colors that date back from the early 90s. When these houses and churches are lit, the glow from the windows magically transforms the aura of the scenery.
The Disney photo spots of Hannah Montana, Disney Princesses and Mickey and Friends located at the SM Cinema Lobby and the Event Centre, respectively, added excitement and glitz to the celebration. Shoppers can have their picture taken for free with their favorite Disney characters.
Moreover, there will be a meet and greet and free photo opportunity with Santa on December 6, 7, 14-18, 21-26 from 3-5PM at the Santa's corner at the mall's Northwing Lobby. There will also be a magical fireworks display on December 6, 9 p.m. and December 25 at 10 p.m.
