Thursday, January 08, 2009 Tricycle driver gets reward
A TRICYCLE driver from Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City, received a certificate of appreciation from Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. and the Cadiz City Franchising and Regulatory Board for returning to its owner a lost wallet containing P11,000 in cash, ATM cards and other valuable items last January 2.
Rodrigo Mahinay, 63, also received a P10,000 reward from the city as a gesture of goodwill from the local government of Cadiz for a deed worthy of emulation of the rest of the city residents.
Escalante strongly emphasized the power of practicing honesty in every endeavor, especially in public service, adding that said virtue brings integrity to the goal and credibility to the goal-caster.
Meanwhile, Escalante has allocated a number of trisikads to the different barangays in the city to assist in the collection of segregated solid waste from households which can hardly be reached by dump trucks.
Three units were given to Barangay Zone 5, five units to Barangay Zone 6 and another five to Barangay Zone 3 Monday morning in front of City Hall.
More units will be dealt out to the rest of the 22 barangays in the city as the updated scheme of the Cadiz City Solid Waste Management Program continues to go a long way in the city’s drive towards a zero-waste environment.
