Thursday, January 15, 2009 WNU Hospitality Management goes international
FOR the past 61 years, West Negros University (WNU) has been a vital source of education, creating opportunities not only for the Wesnecans but also for the whole community.
This, as a groundbreaking ceremony with the theme "WNU Hospitality Management Goes International" was held Wednesday at the east wing parking lot of the university, led by Dr. Suzette Lilian Agustin, with the members of the Board of Regents, vice presidents, middle managers, faculty, staff and the students.
In her message, Agustin said the groundbreaking of the East Wing Building has brought tears of joy to West Negros University after a wonderful opening salvo with the grant of a P5-million approved fund for WNU's research project through National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales.
Agustin added that the launching is about providing opportunities for the youth, of learning and growth, of producing highly competitive Hospitality Management (HM) and culinary arts graduates, of filling the gap and looking forward to the future together.
She underscored WNU's pledge of helping the community, its people, students, faculty and staff in reaching their goals and creating opportunities and choosing to live with exuberance and pride.
Guests, meanwhile, sampled international cuisines prepared by the HM students under Guido Nijssen, HM international consultant.
