Thursday, January 15, 2009 Negrense booters prepare for WVPrisaa
NEGRENSE booters carrying the colors of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural and Educational Association (Nopsscea) have started to prepare for the forthcoming 2009 Western Visayas Regional Prisaa slated on February 3-7 in San Jose, Antique.
The Negrense booters are the reigning regional champions in the event, having won the WVPrisaa title the last four years and the national Prisaa crown as well.
Former national team standout and ex-RP team coach Norman Fegidero Jr. of reigning Nopsscea champion West Negros University, has already formed the Nopsscea lineup for the event with the squad undergoing daily training at the WNU pitch.
The team is composed of WNU standouts Erl Tomodos, Rundy Bayquin, Rudolf Bebanco, Joven Bedic, Vince Braga, Rodney Cornel, Francisco Doniesa, Mark Ferrer, Ruffy Llorente, Gino Palomo, Jayme Poderoso, Jilsor Soriano, Carlo Tacusalme, Camelo Tacusalme, Lemuel Unabia and Alan Auman; and University of St. La Salle"s Hemerson Campo and Jayson Panhay.
The WVPrisaa football event is considered a centerpiece of the annual collegiate competitions in the region since it highlights the traditional rivalry between acknowledged leading football centers Iloilo and Negros Occidental. (HCV)
