Domogan works out funds for housing, irrigation

BAGUIO Rep. Mauricio Domogan has committed the funding of two important projects in the city, the housing as well as irrigation system for farmers in Irisan barangay.

In a letter to Director Raymund Abad, National Housing Authority officer-in-charge for Region 1 and the Cordilleras, Domogan endorsed the project site in Irisan which was recommended by the City Housing and Urban Development Board headed by Mayor Bernardo Vergara and Vice Mayor Betty Lourdes Tabanda as action officer to be funded from the P3 million allocated to him.

He said that the amount will help "jumpstart the city's housing program which will definitely benefit our homeless residents in Baguio."

"The implementation of this project will be a realization of the long-time objective of the current administration to provide shelter to those in need in cooperation with the city government with the end view of uplifting the lives of our constituents," Domogan stressed.

The solon, in another move, committed P410,974.47 to the National Irrigation Administration in the region as the 10 percent counterpart fund of the local government for the implementation of an irrigation system, also in Irisan, under the NIA's "Balikatan Sagip Patubig" project. The amount will be charged against Domogan's Priority Development Allocation Fund (PDAF).

"This project initiated by your office will help the farmers increase their farm outputs which eventually would sustain their lifeline," Domogan noted in his letter to Regional Irrigation Manager Borromeo Melchor. Aileen Refuerzo
