P200T jewelries, cash lost in 3-hour burglary

STILL unidentified burglars carted away more than P200,000 worth of jewelries, cash and other items and victimized three persons in just three hours on Monday.

Operatives of the Baguio City Police Office Station 1 reported that Engr. Jerry Foronda, a mining engineer residing along Naguilian Road, has lodged a theft complaint against still unidentified persons who climbed the rooftap of the Goldrich Construction office attached to their apartment.

He claimed that the thieves removed the glass pane of a steel window and reached for the handbag of his wife reportedly containing assorted jewelries, cash amounting to P6,700 and other important documents.

Foronda added that the handbag contained one pair of Ruby earring valued at P28,000; one pearl bracelet, P35,000; one diamond pendant, P45,000; a pair of earring pearl mother, P18,000; one silver watch worth P45,000; 24K gold necklace - P10,000; white gold cross with diamond - P15,000; 24K chain bracelet worth P7,000 and 18K oval ring valued at P4,000.

The report added that the burglars also stole one Discman player worth P1,700 through the open window of an adjacent room occupied by one Claire Neri, 45, an Insurance company employee; as well as three handbags containing P2,500 in cash and other documents from still another tenant named as Agnes Hizon, 23.

The incident reportedly occurred between 2:00 to 5:00 in the morning of October 14, Monday.

Police are now conducting a follow-up investigation on the matter.(Cheryl G. Cruz)
