Aski pushes for no vending in overpasses
By Gaby Keith

MEMBERS of the Alay sa Kalinisan, Inc. (Aski) are planning to paint notices on the walls of Baguio City overpasses warning illegal vendors to stop plying their trade in the said areas.

Aski, which is co-chaired by Mayor Bernardo Vergara and civic leader Dr. Reinaldo Bautista Sr., agreed that the notices would be both in English and Tagalog with the words, "No vendors allowed here (Bawal magtinda dito).

The City General Services Office, headed by Romeo Concio, was tasked to take charge of the painting of these notices.

Bautista said the painting of the notices would be done simultaneously with the group's follow-up ocular inspection at the city market this month.

He added that ocular inspections would be held every two months thereafter to monitor the condition and cleanliness of the city market.

"Our public market is one of the top tourist draws of the city and it is but proper that we maintain its cleanliness and sanitation," Bautista explained.
