Faster purchase processing of needed materials urged
By Ramon Dacawi

MAYOR Bernardo Vergara prodded Baguio City departments involved in the purchase of supplies and materials to speed up the process, wondering why it sometimes "takes month for just one electric bulb to be delivered" to the office needing it.

"Let's facilitate the processing of papers covering purchase requests and orders," the mayor said at the start of his regular Monday morning meeting with the department heads of City Hall.

He reminded them of his order upon his assumption for immediate action on papers preferred for the signature or approval of office heads.

"That's why I always make it a point to go back to my office after my official functions if only to sign and act on documents with dispatch," Vergara stressed.

He said he noticed some papers due for his signature only reach his office weeks after the start of processing, as shown by their dates.

Vergara also directed the offices concerned to streamline their procedures and not let papers lie on their tables and lenient for days.
