City dads commend local bodybuilder
By Gaby Keith

MAYOR Bernardo Vergara has approved a City Council resolution commending Baguio boy Fernando Faroden for winning the lightweight division title of the recently concluded Mr. Philippines 2003 Bodybuilding Tournament.

The prestigious tournament was held last April 26 in Greenhills, San Juan, Manila.

Councilor Rufino Panagan, the author of this proposal, said that Faroden, a resident of Fairview barangay and a native of Sadanga, Mt. Province, was able to defeat other equally-determined participants from all over the country in the said division because of the latter's successful preparation and gritty determination.

"The triumph of Faroden has again brought honor and prestige to the city," Panagan said.

The councilor added that the commendation would serve as an inspiration to other bodybuilders and athletes, who are interested in joining national and international competitions.
