9 curfew violators, 12 litterbugs nabbed
By Gaby Keith

NINE minors - three students and six out-of-school youths - were nabbed for violating the city's curfew for minors ordinance between the dates June 26 to July 11.

All were immediately referred to the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development for counseling.

The measure bans minors (those 18 years old and below) from loitering in the city from 9 in the evening until 5 in the morning the following day without any adult supervision.

Baguio Police also nabbed 12 anti-littering violators, 27 ambulant vendors, four jaywalkers and one caught smoking in a public utility vehicle during the same period in line with the city's on-going clean and green campaign spearheaded by the Alay sa Kalinisan co-chaired by Mayor Bernardo Vergara and civic-leader Dr. Reinaldo Bautista Sr.

The litterbugs include three drivers, two students, four jobless individuals, one carpenter, one businessman and one architect.

The list of violators was contained in a report from Senior Insp. Clemente Gines, BCPO Community Relations Office head.

Gines said five of the litterbugs, all the ambulant vendors and two of the jaywalkers were made to pay the appropriate fines at the City Treasurer's Office while the rest were given stern warnings.
