Dad wants CH workers to extend noontime services

COUNCILOR Peter Rey Bautista wants the Baguio City Government to extend its services during noontime.

The councilor, who filed a resolution for this purpose, said the work extension "would considerably increase the scope, accessibility and extent of public service".

He made the proposal following observations that many residents doing official transactions at City Hall have to wait until after lunch break just so they can continue, if not complete, these transactions.

He said the city could do the public a favor by extending services during this hour in keeping with the city's mission and thrust as a Character City.

But Bautista clarified that City Hall employees do not have to work beyond the prescribed eight-hour work of 8 a.m.-5 p.m., adding that each department could devise a schedule where personnel can have lunch break at different hours to ensure that services being rendered will not be disrupted even during lunch hours.

Bautista's proposal was referred to the Council Committee on Government Affairs and Personnel for study and appropriate recommendation. APR
