INTELLIGENCE operatives of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) arrested three suspected illegal numbers game or jueteng bet collectors in Irisan last Saturday.
This was the first reported arrest made in the city since the local jueteng operations were taken over by a newly entrenched financier and his station managers last week.
Based on a report to BCPO director Francisco Manalo Jr., confiscated were cash bets amounting to P1,500.25 in different denominations and assorted gambling paraphernalia.
Senior Insp. Elmer Ragay, chief of the BCPO Intelligence & Investigation Branch, identified the three suspects as Dennis Milanes, 29, married, a resident of Tiptop Road, Pacdal; Ricardo Racay Rivera, 22, married, who hails from Rosario, La Union, but who lives at Upper Dominican Road; and Jose Molina Valdez, 18, single, from Bauko, Mt. Province, and who resides at San Luis Village.
Ragay revealed that the arrest of the three suspects was made in Cypress Point, Irisan, around 12:10 p.m. last Saturday.
Reliable sources revealed that the winning number combination for the first jueteng draw that day was 27-25. This was followed by the winning number combination of 12-10 around 4 p.m. and 35-2 around 8 p.m.
It was also reported that no jueteng draws were made last Wednesday, which was just a few days after the new management's takeover.
