2 guards killed
A SECURITY guard was shot dead by his own co-employee while another guard was discovered lifeless with multiple stab wounds in different parts of his body after getting involved in separate incidents at different localities within Baguio City in the past two days.
The latest of the homicide victims was identified as Mario Tuble, 40, single, an employee of Thunder Security Agency from Cavite City, who was assigned as a stay-in guard at the National Food Authority compound along Loakan Road.
SPO4 Ruben Forte of BCPO Station 4 also named Tuble's alleged assailant as Ricky Ayroso, 25, single, another guard of the same agency, who hails from Laur, Nueva Ecija, and who was also assigned to the same NFA detachment.
According to Forte, both guards got into a heated misunderstanding with each other over their sleeping quarters, which reportedly led to them grappling for the same shotgun, which suddenly went off as they were wrestling for its possession at around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the Baguio City Jail on homicide charges after a BCPO Station 4 team responded to the crime scene.
At around 8 a.m. last Wednesday, another security guard from a different agency was reportedly discovered dead inside a vacant lot at Suello Village by two house painters.
This victim was identified as Eduardo Tan Legaspi, of legal age, an employed guard of Sidekick Security Agency assigned to a undisclosed residence at Sto. Tomas Proper, who hails from Alilem, Ilocos Sur, and resides at Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Those who discovered his body were also named as Andy Asumio and Jeff Baroma.
Legaspi's body was later transferred to the La Funeraria Paz morgue for a postmortem autopsy examination.
Both cases were still undergoing follow-up investigations to determine additional details as of presstime Friday. Ernie N. Olson Jr.
