Pregnant woman, companion nabbed for shabu
By Harley Palangchao

ANTI-NARCOTICS agents arrested a pregnant woman and her companion on Friday for possession of 50.1 grams of shabu during a buy-bust operation at the Queen of Peace Road.

Supt. Danilo Flordeliza, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera, said that 34-year old Loida Ramos and Ben Domingo Jr, 26, were arrested after weeks of surveillance and monitoring on their illegal activities.

It was not immediately ascertained if the suspected drug pushers are included in the drug watch list of the PDEA-CAR or the Baguio City Police Office-Drug Enforcement Unit.

Flordeliza said the two were locked up at the Baguio City Jail while the contraband items were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.

He said criminal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Drugs Act were already filed in courts against the two suspects.

Under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, any person found guilty of possessing at least 10 grams of shabu could be meted a life imprisonment if found guilty.

Flordeliza said the 50.1 grams of shabu seized from Ramos and Domingo was the biggest shabu haul since the start of the second quarter this year. He said that more drug personalities are expected to be neutralized in the coming months.

Last week, the BCPO said it has arrested more than 50 drug personalities in Baguio and seized more than P1.8-million worth of drugs during a series of buy-bust operations since June last year.
