City's sisterhood body reorganized
By Aileen Refuerzo

MAYOR Braulio Yaranon last week created the Philippine International Sisterhood and Twinning Association (Phista) local chapter to take charge of concerns on the city's sisterhood relationships.

In Administrative Order No. 48, the mayor named himself as chairman of the body with Councilor Perlita Rondez, chair of the City Council Committee on Tourism & Special Events as co-chairperson.

Named members were Councilors Antonio Tabora Jr. and Erdolfo Balajadia, the city administrator, City Budget Officer Leticia Clemente, Engr. Herr Bautista representing the education sector, Aurora Bautista representing the cultural sector, Peter Ng of the business sector, Art Tibaldo of the culture and arts sector, Jonathan Llanes of the media sector, Secretary to the Mayor Rabindranath Quilala, City Public Information Officer Ramon Dacawi, Baguio Tourism Council president Nicolas Tabora, Interior & Local Governments city director Jose Rapanut and City Tourism Supervising Officer Benedicto Alhambra.

In his order, the mayor said there is a need to reorganize the existing sister-city committee to include members, whose technical knowledge and expertise are vital in the realization of the sisterhood program.

The Phista will be tasked to make recommendations on plans to establish twinning ties between the city and other cities or municipalities within or outside the country, to submit the draft of the necessary documents to effect a recommendation for appropriate action by the city mayor and the City Council, and to come up with a plan of action to realize an active participation from the various sectors and constituents of the city.
