Mayor designates OICs for 2 new departments
MAYOR Braulio Yaranon has designated officers-in-charge for the newly created offices of the building official and the environment, natural resources and parks (ENRP).
In two separate administrative orders, the mayor named Public Utilities Services Officer (Puso) Oscar Flores as acting building official and Acting City Arch. Josephine Chan as officer-in-charge of the City Environment, Natural Resources and Parks Office.
The mayor said the designation is needed to meet the exigencies of service and provide continuity of service while the city is still in the process of completing documentary requirements for the appointment and assignment of personnel in line with the reorganization of five offices as embodied under Ordinance 1-04.
Yaranon said as an offshoot of the reorganization, the functions of a building official previously assumed by the city engineer have been transferred to the newly created building and architecture office, among which the issuance of building permits.
"There is a need to designated an acting building official who shall be primarily responsible for the enforcement of the provisions of Presidential Decree 1096 as well as other related laws pending the appointment of an officer who shall head the newly created (office)," he said.
The ENRP, on the other hand, will be in charge of the garbage collection, management of the city sewer system and parks maintenance as per the reorganization ordinance.(Aileen Refuerzo)
