129 establishments face closure
BAGUIO City Mayor Braulio Yaranon has ordered the closure of 129 business establishments around the city, which were found operating without permits or for other violations of regulatory ordinances.
In a report to the mayor, City Treasurer Thelma Manois noted that 120 of the establishments, including sari-sari stores within the barangays, failed to secure business permits despite earlier notices for them to do so.
As gleaned from her report, most of the erring establishments are operating along Session Road, Mabini Street, Governor Pack Road, Kisad Road, Fairview, South Central Aurora Hill and Pinsao Pilot projects.
Included in the closure orders are an electrical shop along Chugum Street, and eight nightspots at Lower Bokawkan Road.
The mayor noted that the establishments along Bokawkan were discovered by the Anti-Vice Coordinating Task Force, led by Councilor Galo Weygan, to be either operating without business permits, having workers without permits or serving liquor to minors.
