1st BCBC media awards set
THE quest for journalism excellence in this highland city is on as the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club Inc. formally launched the first BCBC Media Awards slated on December 11 at the Margarita Hall of Hotel Supreme.
Club president Robert Tabay said the award was conceived to give recognition to Baguio and Cordillera based journalists in the print and broadcast (radio and television) industries.
"It is our way of reminding our colleagues we are still upholding the ethical standards of journalism for a night and the gathering is aimed to strengthen the camaraderie and working relations among members," Tabay said.
Fifteen awards and two special awards will be given to the members of the media in their effort to better society. The activity was conceptualized in the hope to boost the morale and serve as a check for BCBC members in safeguarding public interest.
