It aimed to provide children with various disabilities the opportunity to travel, discover and learn differently from the usual that they have in their environment; enjoy the company of normal children and those with special needs through activities that will allow them to explore and experience new things through self-discovery; develop faith in their capabilities and use their creative skills to hone their potentials; and enhance their self-esteem through association with other people and develop friendship among themselves.

There are 91 special children participants, mostly from Metro Manila and La Trinidad, Benguet, and 71 volunteers to the program.

Guide is a non-stock non-profit organization established in 1997 to help children with special needs, including orphaned and street children. It is committed to provide opportunities for children to develop potentials and skills to help them become productive individuals; advocate the advancement of special children's rights and welfare; provide assistance to children with disabilities and their service providers; organize and maintain regular training and development programs for special interested groups working for the benefit of children with disabilities; generate resources that will help the organization pursue the achievement of its mission, goals and objective.

Aside from the Gabayan program, Guide is also involved in the conduct of institutional socialization program, child advocacy, volunteers training program, developmental training for teachers and children caring professionals, referral and coordination, and counseling and sports.

Interested volunteers may visit the office of Guide at 906-C. L. Trinidad Street, Vergara, Mandaluyong City. Donations may also be deposited to the Guide's account at PNB-PGH Taft, with account number 200-581133-6. (GE/LC/BSU Interns)
