SLU Boys High alumni leadership forum set
ALUMNI of SLU Boys High will trace their high school roots as they venture to expand their routes towards leadership competence.
Taking off from the old SLU Boys High slogan: "Character Makes a Man," the SLU Boys High Alumni Foundation Inc. will be holding a half-day strategic leadership forum entitled "Roots to Routes: Character and Competence in Leadership," on Saturday at the AIM Conference Center, Igorot Lodge, in Camp John Hay.
Jaime Castro, president of the Alumni Foundation, said topics to be covered include leadership, strategic planning, and teambuilding.
Apart from revisiting the reasons behind the Louisian spirit and the concept of Louisian leadership, the forum will also be a venue for strengthening internal and external alumni affairs, enhancing partnership with the current leadership of its Alma Mater, and identifying and engaging key batch leaders in affairs of the Alumni Association.
One significant output expected from the forum is the creation of committees to handle the annual homecoming event on Dec. 3, 2006.
The seminar-forum is hosted by the Pearl Jubilarians Batch 1976 and will be facilitated by batch member Henry Tenedero, who is also the convenor of the AIM Alumni in Baguio and the chairman of the AIM-based International Movement of Development Managers (IMDM).
The present roster of foundation officers are Castro of Batch 1948 as president; Fernando Lacsamana of Batch 1965, vice president; Nelson Asperin of Batch 1957, treasurer; Antonio Brillantes of Batch 1955, assistant treasurer; Haribelo Abratique of Batch 1979, secretary; Ernesto Balangue of Batch 1962, treasurer; Kane Chanbonpin of Batch 1965, business manager; Manuel Cuilan of Batch 1961, PRO; and Federico Madayag of Batch 1955 and Pepito Vergara of Batch 1965 as sergeant-at-arms.
The board members are Orlando Cuesta of Batch 1955, Alfredo Mondiguing of Batch 1959, Marcial Cuesta of Batch 1966, and Mario Picart also of Batch 1966.
Castro is enjoining all batches to send at least two to three representatives to the seminar.
