Dad bares pending city projects
AT LEAST 11 city projects, mostly infrastructure, remain unimplemented because funds have yet to be allocated, a councilor said on Tuesday.
Councilor Daniel Fariñas said the projects have been approved for implementation by the City Council but might have been overlooked, the reason why funds have not yet been allocated.
As such, Fariñas asked Baguio Representative Mauricio Domogan and the Senate to allocate funds for city priority projects. "These projects have been proposed, approved and acknowledged by the City Council for their importance and impending needs, their immediate and speedy disposal is of primordial concern," he said.
Among the priority projects include the construction of a flyover or rotunda along Magsaysay Avenue; funding for the market development and city housing projects; construction of night and flea markets; rehabilitation of the Baguio Athletic Bowl; construction of condo-type tombs at the city public cemetery; construction of additional sidewalks in all city and national roads, major thoroughfares, highways and other busy streets; city scholarship fund; funding for the construction of a city college to be operated by the City Government, which would cater to poor but deserving students; funding for additional comfort rooms in different parks; and the city market and the multilevel parking at the Burnham Park.
