Irisan homeowners deny spread of allegation over Cypress lot
THE Irisan Peoples Action Against Demolition and for Good Governance (IPADeGG) has denied the allegation of another group of homeowners in the barangay that they influenced some of their members not to shell out money for the payment of the lots they are presently occupying at the Cypress Village.
Because the (IPADeGG) reportedly caused the spread of a "poison letter," which alleged that the 11-hectare lot, subject of a community mortgage program (CMP) by the Blooming Hills Phase I, II and III homeowners, is owned by some politicians, several residents reportedly questioned the validity of the transaction they entered into.
This was also reportedly the reason why the National Housing Authority denied their CMP application.
IPADeGG chair Salvador Ramo said the supposed "poison letter" is actually a report that he prepared concerning the status of lands in Irisan.
However, the group did not authorize the reproduction and distribution of the document to the public since the content of the report has yet to be discussed by their members and revisions would still have to be done.
Ramo said the document is for the exclusive use of its members, including some Cypress Village residents.
Reiterating Ramo's claim, Ignacio Pangket, chair of the urban poor group Organisasyon Dagiti Nakurapay Nga Umili ti Syudad (Ornus), said the delay in the approval for the CMP application by the Blooming Hills group, is due to the backing out of the lot owner, Peter Santos, of the Asia Pine Hill Development Corporation.
"It is the prerogative of the owner to back out if some conditions of their agreement have not been met," Pangket explained.
Last week, the Blooming Hills group came out with a statement denying the content of the IPADeGG document, which alleged among others that the lot they are presently occupying are "owned" by Baguio Representative Mauricio Domogan, former Mayor Bernardo Vergara and former Vice Mayor Betty Lourdes Tabanda and that the lots are sold anywhere from P1,000 to P3,500 per square meter.
Contrary to the document's content, the Blooming Hills group said verification made at the City Register of Deeds would show that the lot is owned by Santos and that their memorandum of agreement would bare that the payment scheme is P400 per square meter. (RO)
