Wednesday, October 04, 2006 Dads ordered to answer pay parking firm's contempt cases
THE Supreme Court (SC) Third Division on Tuesday directed some Baguio councilors to comment on the contempt charges filed by Jadewell.
Aside from members of the City Council, also respondents to the case are former mayor Bernardo Vergara, suspended Mayor Braulio Yaranon and Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 3 Presiding Judge Fernando Vil Pamintuan.
Some of the cases stemmed from the orders issued by Vergara and the passage of the City Council of resolutions that are allegedly detrimental to the pay parking operation.
Another case involved Yaranon's communication to the City Council over the cancellation of the Pay Parking Ordinance while the latest case filed involved the issuance of an injunction against Jadewell by Pamintuan despite pending cases before the SC.
At the City Council, Councilor Edilberto Tenefrancia said the body is already discussing the possibility of submitting a manifestation that they are no longer a party to some of the cases cited by the SC. (RO)
