Group formed to prepare rule for market lease rental By Rimaliza Opiña
A TECHNICAL working group (TWG) was created to formulate guidelines for Mines View satellite market lease rental.
This developed following the approved re-bidding of the project.
City Budget Officer Leticia Clemente said the group was formed to ensure that prior to the operation of leaseholders in the area, the rates should be in place.
This is also to avoid the possibility of non-payment if ever "haggling" happens at the City Council, said Clemente, who is also the chairperson of pre-qualification, bids and awards committee (Pbac).
"Lease rentals have to be in place prior to re-bidding," she said, adding that because of bargaining, rentals were not paid to the City Treasurer's Office (CTO).
Acting Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr., meanwhile, said he would issue an administrative order to formalize the creation of the TWG to be composed of representatives from the City Accountant Office (CAO), the CTO, the General Services Office (GSO) and the City Budget Office (CBO).
The Mines View satellite market would be re-bade as soon as the City Legal Office (CLO) submits to the City Council the documents for the annulment of the P19-million contract earlier awarded.
