Bautista said this in recognition of the PMA's contribution to the city's tourism industry.
"The City Government never gave anything in return," he said, adding that because of the lack of funds from the National Government, the PMA could hardly maintain all of its restrooms.
Apart from the city share, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) would also reportedly finance and help maintain the drainage and sewerage system of the restrooms.
The P1 million would come from the P65 million annual investment plan (AIP) of the city, which is pending approval by the City Council.
Bautista said coordination was already made with the City Buildings and Architecture Office for the design. The city's seal would reportedly be made part of all the restrooms that would be constructed and redesigned.
The P65 million AIP is allotted for the beautification of Burnham Park, Session Road, rehabilitation and fencing of public schools and for the possible construction of a trade and technical school, similar to the set-up done by the Technical Education, Skills and Development Authority when the Baguio School of Arts and Trade was constructed.
