Agri chief to inspect infra projects in Kalinga

AGRICULTURE Secretary Arthur Yap is expected to arrive in the region, particularly in the province of Kalinga, on Friday.

Yap, together with other Cordillera local officials, would visit the ongoing infrastructure projects in the capital town of Tabuk and in the municipality of Pasil.

The secretary would deliver a message over a short program at the Provincial Capitol followed by a media interaction. He would also hand over symbolic checks to Municipal Government officials for various farm-to-market road (FMR) projects.

After which, Yap would motor around Barangays Ableg and Battiken to inspect the construction of the FMRs amounting to P2.5 million, then proceed to Pasil to inspect the construction of Tabuk-Tuguegarao Road.

He would be briefed by Public Works Regional Director Mariano Alquiza on the background of the road project, then motor back to the Capitol for a meeting with Governor Dominador Belac, Representative Lawrence Wacnang, Pasil Mayor Artemio Dalsen, Tabuk Mayor Camilo Lammawin, DA Regional Director Cesar Rodriguez and other provincial officials.

Primarily assigned by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the overseer of the North Luzon Agri-Business Quadrangle project, Yap would also visit various agri-business projects in Cagayan. These include the Lal-lo Airport project, agro-forestry development project and the Sta. Ana farm-to-market road project.
