CABINET Secretary Ricardo Saludo will grace the 106th Benguet Day Foundation program at the Provincial Capitol on Friday.
Saludo is one of the key personalities invited to attend the joint celebration of Benguet's Foundation Day and Adivay Festival, a three-week undertaking, which showcases the province's finest.
A civic parade will run through the valley highway, to be led by provincial officials and employees and participated in by residents and officials of the 13 municipalities, tertiary and vocational schools in the province, line agencies and provincial offices, non-government organizations (NGOs), various motorist clubs and the Los Caballeros, a prominent horse rider's association in Benguet.
The parade will end at the Capitol grounds, which would be followed by an awards program at the Ben Palispis Hall to honor citizens and organizations that brought fame and contributed to the province's development.
With the theme "Benguet Thru the Years", the three-week celebration highlights the history, culture and arts and the trade and industry of the province's people. Benguet's history, customs and traditions are displayed in a two-week exhibit at the Land Bank of the Philippines building at KM 6 in La Trinidad.
Meanwhile, the province's indigenous crops, artifacts and handicrafts as well as other items uniquely Benguet are showcased in the agro-industrial trade fair at the Benguet State University (BSU) grounds.
Destination tours are also arranged for individuals or groups wanting to visit the different tourism areas of the province. These include packaged tours to various organic farms in the capital town of La Trinidad and nearby municipalities.
The joint Benguet Day and Adivay celebration will last up to December 2.
