SM CITY Baguio once again invites its shoppers to clean their closets and sort out their extras - clothes, shoes, houseware, even appliances - and share these with the less fortunate in SM Foundation's "Share Your Extras" charity campaign.
Donors can bring their extras at the "Share Your Extras" booth located at the Third Floor of SM City Baguio, between Globe and Games & Gadgets.
A joint project of SM Foundation and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, "Share Your Extras" donation booths will be set up at the SM Supermalls from January 18 to February 19.
Media partners include the Philippine Information Agency-Cordillera, KBP Baguio-Benguet, Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club, Baguio Midland Courier, Sun.Star Baguio, DZEQ Radyo ng Bayan, 96.7 K-Lite, 95.1 Love Radio, Bombo Radyo, ABS-CBN, and Viacomm Mountainview Inc.
This is the eighth year of SM Foundation's "Share Your Extras" campaign, one that has seen an outpouring of extras from generous shoppers.
Last year, more than 14,000 families from 85 DSWD barangays in 22 provinces benefited from the campaign.
In Benguet, over a thousand families from the municipalities of Kapangan, Kibungan, and Bakun received extras from SM Foundation. Families lined up during the distribution, and recipients excitedly tried on the items they received. Kids were visibly excited as they opened their bags full of toys. Even members of the communities helped distributing the goods to the less fortunate.
This year's recipients will include indigents of Regions IV, V, VII, X, XI, as well as the National Capital Region and the Cordillera areas. DSWD institutions will also be earmarked for the distribution. Among these are the Abierta House of Friendship, Unang Hakbang Foundation, Nayon ng Kabataan, and Saklolo at Gabay ng Ina at Pamilya (SAGIP). Many children in charitable institutions will be beneficiaries - those in A Light House Center for Children Foundation, Inc., Association de Damas de Filipinas, Inc., Haven for Children, Bahay Tuluyan, and National Training School for Boys.
Regional centers like the Regional Haven for Women and Girls, Home for Girls - Area Vocation Rehabilitation Center, the Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth in Guimaras, the Home for Girls in Cabanatuan , the Regional Center for Women in New Lucena, and the Home for Girls - Substitute Home for Women will also receive donations.
You can make a difference. Share your extras at donation booths at SM City Baguio from January 18 to February 19. (Press release)
