IN LINE with the upcoming celebration of Baguio City's centenary in 2009, the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) will conduct a forum with focus on multi-sectoral value-driven competitiveness and leadership on February 3.
The forum is envisioned to be part of a series of seminars, fora, and conferences designed to enhance the leadership skills and capabilities of the leaders and volunteers engaged in various centennial preparatory activities.
Among the speakers for the forum are AIM president Francis Estrada, AIM executive director Federico Macaranas, AIM Alumni Association president Ricardo Pascua, and Professor Henry Tenedero, who is also the chairperson of the International Learning Styles Network Global Leadership Forum.
Estrada would discuss value-driven competitiveness and leadership; Pascua would lecture on multi-sectoral leadership; Tenedero would tackle leadership and working styles; and Macaranas would talk on ways to enhance Baguio's competitiveness.
In the past three years, a study done by AIM and a local university revealed that the city's competitiveness among mid-size cities continues to drop. Reasons cited include the lack of infrastructure to cater to the needs of outside clientele as well as lack of incentive from the government and bureaucracy in the processing of government papers.
