Magsaysay, Bonifacio parking ban up Monday
By Rimaliza Opiña

AFTER extending the Session Road parking ban to General Luna and Assumption Roads, Acting Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. issued another administrative order that would also ban parking along Magsaysay Avenue and Bonifacio Street.

The prohibition, which is also on experimental basis, would follow the same schedule of six to nine in the morning and four to seven in the evening presently being imposed along Session, General Luna and Assumption Roads, and would begin on Monday, March 19.

In Administrative Order 027-2007, Bautista said the decision to further extend the coverage of the parking ban is in response to the March 10 request of the two associations of public utility drivers traversing the Aurora Hill route, which said that the no parking zones be extended also in these routes.

The coverage of the no parking zone includes the whole stretch of Magsaysay Avenue, from the foot of Session Road down to the former Agrix building abutting Bokawkan Road, and at Bonifacio Street from the Baguio Centermall until Father Carlu Loop near the Baguio Cathedral.

Bautista also ordered the Traffic Management Branch of the Baguio City Police Office to submit a weekly traffic report to determine the scheme's effectiveness.
