Wednesday, May 23, 2007 A song for Mommy Marissa Flor
THE Landmark Bible Baptist Church, Inc., in coordination with the SK Federation-La Trinidad Chapter and the La Trinidad Municipal Employees Association, will be presenting a concert for a cause on June 8 for a cancer patient, Marissa Tabdi-Wasit.
Aptly entitled "A Song for Mommy Marissa Flor," the concert, featuring the Cordillera Integrated Musicians Guild, Inc., would be held at the Baguio State University closed gym from 6-10 p.m.
Wasit, 36, has been battling breast cancer since 2005. Late last year, the cancer spread to other parts of her body. Proceeds from the concert would help her out for her 15th chemotherapy cycle. The family has been financially exhausted due to the expensive treatment she has been undergoing.
A mother of four beautiful children aged 3, 9, 11 and 12 years old, Wasit hails from Atok, Benguet and teaches Biology at the Baguio City National High School.
Tickets are at P50 each and are available at the Mangallay & Dampac Law Office in Hillside Square, Km.4 La Trinidad, Benguet (422-6538, 09208400170); Minda's Buddies Cancer Support Group at Rm. 209, Laperal Building, Session (442-6056); and Wasit Family in Shilan, La Trinidad (0918-5067628).
