Saturday, May 26, 2007 New investigative office chief bares priorities
THE new chief of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in the Cordillera said he would prioritize the arrest of wanted persons, the neutralization of criminal gangs and the dismantling of private armed group upon his assumption of command here.
Senior Superintendent Cedrick Train, who took over the reins of the PNP-CIDG regional office from Senior Superintendent Eduardo Bayangos, said he would assess the sensational cases pending within the region and would properly coordinate with local police authorities for the speedy solution of these cases.
Train said this was to include the numerous election-related incidents perpetrated in the provinces of Abra and Kalinga recently.
The flag of command of the regional office was turned over to Train by Chief Superintendent Raul Castañeda, PNP-CIDG deputy director, after this was relinquished to him earlier during the simple turnover ceremony by Bayangos, who in turn, would be reassigned to the national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Train, who was born and raised in Antique, is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1984.
He also became the chief of the Batangas City Police Station and chief of Task Force Santa Clara of the Batangas Provincial Police Office, which was tasked to maintain peace and order in the international port there before he was transferred to the PNP-CIDG and became the chief of its Anti-Smuggling Task Force.
