Not only that, the victim was also mauled by the robbers.

The victim was identified by Chief Superintendent Raul Gonzales, director of the Police Regional Office in the Cordillera, as Renel Costales Esquivas, 25, a collector of Summit Bank located along Km. 5 of La Trinidad, Benguet, who resides in Gabriela Silang, Baguio City.

Esquivas went to the store of a certain Sarah Rivera to collect the storekeeper's cash deposits at around 12:30 p.m. last June 23.

Although he noticed two men drinking softdrinks there, he went to talk to the storekeeper before one of the robbers approached him and told him not to resist.

The victim said that he held tightly on to his gray shoulder bag, which the robber tried to grab from him but the other robber aided his companion and hit the victim on the head with a gun.

As a result, the robbers were able to take his bag containing cash collections amounting to P2,000 and another P20,000 taken from the front pocket of his pants before they fled to an undisclosed direction. (ENO)
